FACC Breakfast- Social Security for French Expats

June 21, 2018
On Thursday June 21st, 40 attendees gathered for a breakfast addressing Social Security for French Expats in the United States. Since July 1, 1988, the totalization agreement between France and the United States effectively eliminated dual coverage between the two systems, with additional specifications to the transfer of credits between the two. French citizens do not need to return to the U.S. in order to collect their benefits. The presentation also addressed:
  • Social Security filing strategies
  • Social Security and taxes
  • Coordinating US Rules with French Rules
  • Age and benefit calculations
If you were unable to attend, we invite you to consult the PDF below. Download the Presentation  Many thanks to Vanessa Vincent, Financial Planner at Mass Mutual, for sponsoring the breakfast.
