FACC Faces — Caroline

With an international background spanning different continents and cultures, Caroline found a natural fit at the FACC, where international business, cross-cultural connections, and community come together every day. In her role, she works closely with members to understand what they’re looking for, connect them with the right people and opportunities, and help turn individual connections into lasting relationships.

What led you to your role at the FACC, and what has kept you passionate about the work you do?

What led me to the FACC was really the opportunity to bring together several things that have always motivated me. I’ve lived most of my life abroad, across different continents and cultures, so international environments and connecting with people from different backgrounds have always felt very natural to me.

The FACC felt like a natural fit because it brings together my interest in international business, my curiosity about different markets and cultures, and, most importantly, my enjoyment of building relationships and creating connections between people.

What has kept me passionate is the people and the variety of the work. I love understanding what someone is trying to achieve and helping create the right connections or opportunities. Ultimately, it’s rewarding to feel that the relationships and bridges we build can lead to something concrete and meaningful.

You work closely with the FACC’s members and community every day. What do you enjoy most about building those relationships and being part of the FACC community?

What I enjoy most is the people and the genuine relationships that develop over time. I like getting to know our members beyond just their businesses — understanding what they’re working on, what challenges they’re facing, and what they’re looking to achieve.

I also really enjoy the diversity of the FACC community. You meet people from different industries, backgrounds, and stages of their careers, and there’s always an opportunity to learn from each other.

For me, being part of the FACC is about more than making connections. It’s about creating a sense of community where people feel supported, and I find it very rewarding to play a role in making those connections happen.

What is something about your work at the FACC that people might not see from the outside? What goes into creating a strong and engaged member community?

I think one thing people don’t always see is how much work happens behind the scenes to really build a community. It’s not just about the events we organize. A lot of it is listening to our members, following up with them, understanding what they’re looking for, and making the right introductions.

I think a strong community really comes down to trust and making people feel like they’re part of something. You want members to feel that we know them, that we understand their needs, and that they can come to us when they’re looking for advice, connections, or opportunities.

And for me, that personal relationship is really what makes the difference between simply having a network and actually having a community.

As we look ahead to the remainder of 2026, what are you most excited about at the FACC? Are there any initiatives or projects you’re particularly looking forward to?

I’m really excited about the momentum we have for the rest of 2026. We’ve just celebrated the FACC’s 130th anniversary, which was a really special milestone, and it feels like a great moment to build on that energy and look ahead.

I’m particularly looking forward to our Foundation Gala on November 2nd. It’s always a great opportunity to bring our community together, and this year it feels especially meaningful after such an important anniversary year.

We’re also working on some exciting initiatives with other FACC chapters that we’ll be able to share more about soon. I can’t say too much yet, but I think they’ll be a great way to strengthen the connections across our network.

And finally, I’m excited about the team itself. We have some new people joining us, so we’ll be heading into 2027 with a fresh team, new energy, and hopefully lots of new ideas. I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can build together.
