7/24 Updates to the American Outbound Program

July 24, 2020

As part of our committment to international exchange and reciprocity, the FACC-NY has developed special agreements with the French Office for Immigration and Integration, OFII, which allow young American professionals to work in France, for up to 18 months, under a simplified CDD contract.

Following the COVID-19 outbreak, in an effort to reduce transmission of the virus, the European Union and France temporarily suspended the entry of international non-resident and non-citizen travelers. In addition, in the United States, the VFS visa processing centers temporarily closed and suspended the processing of visas. Early July, as sanitiation measures eased, additional guidance was released that VFS would resume appointments for a limited number of categories, indicated below.

Unfortunately the "Jeune Professionnel" visa category, which makes the FACC American Outbound Program possible, is not currently part of the active visa categories. Until further notice, the FACC-NY will not accept new American Outbound applications. We hope to reopen this opportunity in the near future and will update our website and communications if or when additional guidance is issued. Pending applicants will be contacted and should advise their French employer as soon as possible.
