Luxury, What's Next?

On February 13th, ninety guests gathered at the Bryant Park offices of Baker McKenzie to hear from guest keynote speaker Erwan Rambourg, Global Co-Chair of Consumer & Equity Research at HSBC.

Rambourg joined HSBC in 2005 after working for eight years as a marketing manager in the luxury industry, notably for Richemont and LVMH. He is the author of ’The Bling Dynasty - Why the Reign of Chinese Shoppers has Only just Begun’, published in Sept 2014. During his presentation, he addressed the changing consumer dynamics of luxury consumption, notably as Chinese shoppers begin to purchase more at home rather than abroad and benefit from increased purchasing power and eagerness to display Western designers and trends. Secondly, Rambourg touched upon the macro and microeconomic factors influencing the success of luxury brands today, finally closing with reasons why mergers and acquisitions will continue to define the luxury landscape in 2019 and beyond.

This event marked the first of our luxury, fashion and beauty series for 2019. Consult the FACC events calendar to learn more about future discussions and register to attend.
