Trainee or Intern Candidate (J-1 Visa)

In order to be eligible for a J-1 visa through the FACC's International Career Development Programs, the candidate must:

 Be a foreign national (European for the VIE program) currently enrolled in, or a graduate of, a foreign post-secondary school or degree-granting institution.

 Speak English proficiently enough to participate in a professional exchange program in the United States.

 Have received an internship or training offer from an eligible host company that corresponds to his or her studies.

 Not have held a previous J-1 Training visa in the United States in the last two years (please contact the FACC if you have held a previous J-1 Intern or Trainee visa to determine your eligibility).

 Have medical insurance coverage for the entire duration of the J-1 visa per U.S. federal regulations.

 Agree to leave the United States upon J-1 visa program completion.

J-1 VISA PROGRAM APPLICATION FORMS - CANDIDATE

Thanks to our State Department designation, FACC New York is able to offer three distinct J-1 visa programs: Intern, Trainee and VIE. Please contact us at icdp@faccnyc.org or by telephone at 212-867-0123 to determine which program is right for you.

The  following documents are required of ICDP J-1 visa program candidates - please submit the following documents to icdp@faccnyc.org in the exact order they appear below.

Documents should be combined and sent in 1 PDF or JPEG file attachment.


 Exchange Visitor Request Form

 Documented proof of English language ability (TOEFL or TOEIC score)

 Medical Insurance Certification

 University Statement/Convention de Stage/Diploma

 Proof of previous work experience/internships (Employment Statement)

 Non-Employment Statement

 Copy of resume/CV

 Photocopy of the first 10 pages of a valid passport

 

We strongly recommend that all applicants contact the ICDP department before submitting any documents to determine your eligibility and to discuss the program requirements. A telephone interview in English with each applicant will also be conducted before approval.

Once the FACC has confirmed your eligibility as an intern or trainee, please reference the J-1 Exchange Visitor Application Guide to facilitate the application process.

Please note that the reception of an application does not guarantee FACC sponsorship.
