Soirée Ambulante in SoHo

On the evening of April 16, thirty members of the French-American Chamber of Commerce participated in a unique walking tour of New York City’s famed SoHo neighborhood.

The event kicked off at neighboring stores, L’Occitane and Oliviers & Co. on Bleecker Street. Those that gathered at L’Occitane learned about the brand and its products through a special presentation by the Director of Marketing, Anne-Cécile Brilland. At Oliviers & Co., members participated in an olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting and listened to remarks about the company by its Vice- President of Retail, Eric Maure.

The next stop of the “Soirée” was Longchamp’s Spring Street boutique where Managing Director Olivier Cassegrain addressed attendees. Eric Le Goff, Senior Director, Cushman & Wakefield then offered remarks about the retail market in SoHo, citing recent rent price decreases but also the quarter’s lasting appeal for retailers.

After a short walk down Spring Street, participants were welcomed with champagne and strawberries at Fresh Inc. Ann Li, Vice President of Business Development, New York City Economic Development Corporation, addressed members and thanked business owners, on behalf of the Mayor, for bringing their companies to New York City. Jean-Marc Plisson, Chief Executive Officer, Fresh Inc. then introduced the French and American aspects of the brand and invited attendees to try out the products.

The event came to a close with a final stop at the Bubble Lounge on West Broadway. Guests were treated to a complimentary flûte of champagne as they continued to network and enjoy the remainder of the evening.

The FACC thanks all participating stores for their gracious welcome.
