Is retail dead or undergoing a renaissance? Join a compelling panel discussion with experts from the fields of media, design, commerce and hospitality as they debate about what it takes to court customers with impactful storytelling and experiential marketing.

Lululemon is enticing customers with in-store yoga, Whole Foods features cooking classes and wine pairings, while REI offers rock climbing and Patagonia encourages in-store voter registration. Perhaps one of the more audacious, Vans London even went so far as to take over a 30,000 ft2 space where a skate park, street culture, music and art intersect.

It is no secret that traditional retail faces a crisis. Iconic giants such as Lord & Taylor, Barneys, Sonia Rykiel and Roberto Cavalli the latest casualties of 2019. Looking into the not-too-distant future, the integration of hospitality features — creating emotional connections through spatial and content strategies — will be essential for physical retail to reinvent itself for the next decade.

Along with reinvention, comes an increased integration and dependence on technology in retail.

Tech has let to many advantages for brands, retailers, and consumers alike. It has become a way to know and connect to customers. Yet alongside these advances, has retail lost some of its intrinsic qualities along the way? Join us for a dynamic panel discussion with retail & hospitality strategists who will debate questions such as:

  • How can retail strike a balance between culture and technology?
  • What is the most effective way of going about creating unique and authentic interactions (and transactions)?
  • Invisible tech: measuring how the customer “feels” the space and responds to it
  • Physical space and the authenticity of sensorial and human interactions it can provide

The panel discussion will be followed by a networking cocktail reception.
